The Gift of a Mother Tongue Book

Research has proven that learning to read in their own language is essential for children to learn and instil the joy of reading. It fosters a deeper understanding of their own language and pride in their culture and heritage. But some children never get to read a book written in their own language. In Haiti for example, children are taught in French, and their books are all in French. However at home children speak Haitian Kreyòl. We are enabling children to read books in their own mother tongue.
