Legacies

You can support the work of the Foundation in your Will. You can create a lasting legacy by helping to support access to learning worldwide and secure the future of Education for All. We will ensure your wishes count into the future. Every gift makes a real difference. You can make your gift generally to support the Foundation’s work or you can specify the project or region to which you would wish to give your support.

These days many people use standard forms purchased at High Street stationers to make their wills, but if you are in doubt or if your will is in any way complicated you should talk to a suitably qualified lawyer. It is however easy to make a simple gift of money – a bequest – in your will. Before you set out in your will your wishes for what is called the “residue” of your estate to family, friends or others as you choose, you can specify that you wish to give a fixed sum of money to the Steve Sinnott Foundation. Here are some words you can use.

I give free of inheritance tax £XXXX to The Steve Sinnott Foundation, registered charity numbers 1130814 (England and Wales) and SC046031 (Scotland), for its general charitable purposes of supporting access to learning for children and young people around the world and I declare that the receipt of the treasurer or other proper officer for the time being shall be a sufficient discharge to my executors.

Alternatively if you wish to nominate one of our projects for your gift or specify in which part of the world you would like your gift to give support you can amend these words appropriately. For example –

I give free of inheritance tax £XXXX to The Steve Sinnott Foundation, registered charity numbers 1130814 (England and Wales) and SC046031 (Scotland), to be used to advance its [specify] project in supporting access to learning for children and young people and I declare that the receipt of the treasurer or other proper officer for the time being shall be a sufficient discharge to my executors.

OR

I give free of inheritance tax £XXXX to The Steve Sinnott Foundation, registered charity numbers 1130814 (England and Wales) and SC046031 (Scotland), to be used to advance its work in [specify country or region] in supporting access to learning for children and young people and I declare that the receipt of the treasurer or other proper officer for the time being shall be a sufficient discharge to my executors.
