SOCIAL INNOVATIVE GROUP NETWORK (SIGN) is a registered society under the Government of Andhra Pradesh Societies Act, India. It is a Non Profit Organization with registered Number 257/08 and registered on 11th August 2008. It is a small organization helping needy with meager funds contributed by the society members. It is a grass root non-profit organization.
EDUCATION ACTIVITIES OF SIGN
SIGN believes that poverty can be eradicated with education. We are providing free education to street Children and Orphan.
Education for Street Children and orphans
SIGN is a non-profit organization working with street children. Hyderabad is a major Railway junction with a population of almost 38,29,753 . There are over 55,000 street children in the city. According to a recent municipal survey, these children run away from their own villages. The children aged between 5 to 15 years of age are mostly scavengers, or beg for food. Some are able to find work, but are treated harshly and have no facility for medicine, regular food, savings or security. SIGNS wants to provide these facilities with your help. It helps such poor children. We are unable to provide with empty hands.
Non-formal education centers
Every day the teacher has opportunity to meet children at non-formal education centers. Children aged 6 to 14 years participate in the one-hour class taken in the evenings. The teacher not only teaches but also watches the children growing and learning. The teacher encourages drop out children to continue their education. Children are helped to learn, besides teaching them stories, jokes, songs and play with them lots of outdoor games. We have reduced the number of centers as our support base is shrinking. At present we have 5 non-formal centers
Other Activities
SIGN also runs an orphanage home in Hyderabad. We have Health and Environment Protection programs and in Women and family programs.
