Introduction

Education is only the weapon by which one can fight and conquer the battle of life. Pakistan is signatory to the “Dakar Declaration” of 2003 to achieve 85 percent literacy rate by 2015. The literacy rate in the world is calculated for 15+ population whereas in Pakistan, it is estimated for population 10+? (Ministry of Education).

Education Budget for 2009-2010 (31 Billion Rupees – 2.6%). Education For all Programme (Rs 2 Billion). Federal Ministry of Education has launched a scheme of establishment and operation of basic education and community schools in the country with a resource allocation of Rs 2billion. At present there are more than 50 million illiterate citizens in Pakistan. Primary school enrolment was less than 70percent and even in this, as many as 30 percent get dropped out before acquiring basic literacy skills.
“Education plays a vital role in every aspect of one’s lives, so we should give our hundred percent to it & not waste our time in useless activities”. Being equipped with the best education is a key tool in one’s survival in this system.

Objectives of our Schools project

The objectives of our project are as follow:
1. To upraise the literacy level.
2. To help people in making them more skilled to get better jobs.
3. To upraise their living standards.
4. To decrease the crime rate through awareness and education.
5. To enhance their productive skills.
6. To give them awareness in all social and religious aspects too.
7. To decrease dropout rate.
8. To build up a new sense of self-respect and dignity.

Demands of the Society

There are many schools already working on educational grounds. But the people of Youhanabad are mostly below the poverty line and could not pay twenty rupees for their education. Due to the lack of awareness they think that instead of paying twenty rupees for education it's better to send their child for labour where he or she can at least earn twenty rupees per day. That’s how they prefer the temporary source of income to education.

Our Efforts to upraise literacy level in Youhanabad

So what the society of Youhanabad needs is the education totally free of cost. In some cases we have paid the parents to send the children for studies but for only those who desire to study most of them are dropout (people who left schools before completing their primary education) or who never went to school.

Here in Youhanabad when a child turns to the age of four or five he is not sent to the school for studies instead he is set free to roam in the streets for learning evil things. This is only because both the education and awareness are negligible among the parents and that’s because they also have never been to school.

If fifty out of hundred children are sent to schools, due to the lack of interest and no backup from the parents twenty five of them quit and only other twenty five could make it up to the matriculation that is not enough.

Our project fulfills almost all the demands of the society those are really required to educate a community. We are teaching them free of cost, we have skilled teachers to teach them, we work for their skill development and we are committed to them that we will support them morally and financially if they will continue their education in any higher institution of the country.

Social and Economical benefits of the project

Social benefits:
1. It will increase the literacy rate.
2. It will upraise the leaving standard of the community.
3. It will be easy to get quality jobs.
4. It will provide healthy environment for the community.
5. It will decrease poverty rate.
6. More and more people will be skilled.

Economical benefits:
1. More and more literate people like our teachers will get jobs in our schools.
2. When people will have good jobs, more and more people will tend to work and they will become the cause of rise in economy.
3. G.D.P, N.I, P.I and N.E will increase.

Alternative or draw back of our project

Drawbacks:
We have made small centers at different places to accommodate more and more children at the same time. This makes it little hard for administration to monitor all of them at the same time in this way monitoring them waste the time and maintaining them all separately.

Solution:
Solution to that is a single building which could accommodate classrooms, offices and a playground altogether in one premises. But due to the limited budget we cannot achieve this goal at present. Every one of us takes things differently, so there is a room for different suggestions. All of us should aim at to abreast and pace ahead to take the task of improving the education system in a systematic way by implementation different programmes. Awareness should be created amongst un-aware fellows, the importance of education must be expounded in real terms but in an easy way, different literacy programmes should be commenced throughout the country in order to provide assistance pertaining the impediments faced by the poor. Government should take an active eye and spend much more money for the improvement of primary, secondary and higher education. More schools, colleges and universities, medical and engineering colleges are needed to be opened. Special attention must be paid on the development of scientific and technical education so that the settled trend of people in getting academic education may be diverted to the technical education. Subject relevancy must be paid in mind while induction of staff for the concerned posts. Politics must eliminated from education department. Student should pay attention much more on their studies than chalking walls in propagation of different leaders, by doing so they are just wasting their time; nothing can be got by nefarious means. Honesty of purpose and quality in work should be our motives. Every one of us (parents, students, teachers and the supreme government) should root out the copy culture from top to bottom from educational system that has been eating away the fresh brains of our youth for the times unknown. The education must be got for the purpose of education not for getting jobs. Text books must be updated with current topics and rapidly changing of the scenario of the world must be given in the textual books. These suggestions are not enough but whatever has come in my mind I have honestly jotted down; there is a room for suggestions as already has been mentioned. In the last but not the least let us work together for bringing revolutionary changes for the effective function of educational system in the country.
