RURAL EDUCATION AND DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME
HELP MAKE REDEP ICT HOUSE BECOME A REALITY
The Rural Education and Development Programme (REDEP) is an all-volunteer, non-profit, non- governmental organization based in the Ajumako Enyan Essiam District in the Central Region of Ghana. The organization was incorporated in November, 1999 and granted NGO status by the Department of Social Welfare in April 2001. REDEP is engaged in activities that bring hope to the people it serves through community development programs that help fill the needs of the people for Health, Education, Environment and Livelihood (hence the acronym 'HEEL'
THE DREAM:
Rural Education and Development Programme (REDEP) is looking forward to creating an ICT centre for the Ajumako Enyan Essiam District in the Central Region of Ghana that will would be accessible to the rural dwellers. This is initiative by Rural Education and Development Programme (REDEP) will promote effective use of information and communication technologies (ICT) in learning through supporting the connection of schools to the Internet and by creating a network of schools. This network is envisaged as a means by which to: build connections among students, teachers and schools; share information and resources; and prepare learners for knowledge-based societies. The project will also encourage the creation of locally-relevant and high-quality educational resources through ICT and champions lifelong learning.
LOCATION OF BUILDING:
The ICT house would be located at Enyan Abaasa, one of the principal towns in the District. There is an old unused school building to be rehabilitated for the ICT house. (Picture of the building attached)
WE NEED YOUR HELP:
To make the ICT house reality we, we are calling on Foundations, philanthropists and well wishers to provide volunteers, materials and funds.etc
HOW YOU CAN HELP:
v REDEP is looking for sponsors/volunteers to:
- Raise money for this development project
- Personally involved as well as contributing financially to the project
- Form a relationship with our local NGO, thereby providing on going long-term assistance to our community
- Let REDEP know how you can help e.g skills/interest, materials etc.
