I am currently working with a Rehabilitation Centre in Kenya that deals with both physically and mentally challenged children and orphans.
We are looking for funds to enable us build wheelchair accessible ramps and also renovate the boys dormitory. I would really appreciate any funding towards the two projects.
The name of the Centre is Matumaini Rehabilitation Centre, it is a registered charitable institution. It is a hostel facility. Its main goal is to faciltate the physically and mentally challenged children to access education in the nearby integrated primary and secondary school. Further to this we also have a Training unit. Though currently closed due to lack of finances, it is meant to cater for the youth to attain training in courses like welding, woodwork and joinery, tailoring, knitting and computer skills.
We are really praying and looking forward to revamping the training unit so as to serve the young people and help them become self reliant in the near future. Previously, most of our clients at the training unit were slow learners and therefore it was not making any profits which led to it closure due to the high cost of mainitainence.
