Educational support for orphan children of tsunami affected villages
Indian Social Service Institute is working for the educational development of orphan and poor children in the 2006 tsunami affected villages of Nagapattinam district of Tamilnadu State, India. At present,we are conducting three evening education centres for the educational improvement of 130 orphans and poor children of the area. Every day and evening, teachers teach subjects like english, tamil, maths, science and social sciences for all children. Additionally we organise sports, games and cultural activies to improve the skills of all children. Periodically we conduct various competitions, for example in drawing.
We need educational materials, uniforms for the children and monthly allowances for the teachers of the centres. We need, from well-wishers and donors, financial support for the educational development of the children at the rate of only 1000 Indian Rupees for each child.
