Hope&Action For Africa ( HAFA), is a community based non-profit organisation (CBO), that seeks to address challenges in our communities, especially for refugees from the seven countries mainly hosted in Kenya (Burundi, DRC, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Rwanda, Somalia and Sudan) and citizens from vulnerable group.




We have four active programs spearheading a call to action in the African communities:

• Vulnerable groups(street families is our direct orientation)
• Environment
• Refugees (major program)
• Youth Empowerment

As a community based organisation, we are not focused specifically on child education. We have some plans for education programs but we believe that improved access to education will follow as a consequence of our wider efforts in the communities with which we are working.

We have four main aims:

• to increase awareness of the refugees' plight,  so that improved solutions and services can be addressed by various partners(e.g NGOs, government institutions and Volunteers)
• to innovate practical solutions for refugee communities and vulnerable groups of citizens.
• to give knowledge to communities by letting them know which kind of organisations and government institutions will address their problems and to work closely with them by coming near to them
• to teach vulnerable groups on how to overcome their particular problems, update the way they view community and their future, as well as assist them finding innovative solutions to improve their life, fight poverty, and to provide useful knowledge and information within these groups.

Our planned education programs

Our street family education will focus especially on children in street life.  It is relatively easy to achieve change for the children. We can give direction to their future. That is not easy for adults in street life.  

We have also a proposal for a program of refugees' child education. We shall be searching for support from well wishers in developed countries. We plan to select a number of refugee children, take their names, details  and stories and send them to correspondents in developed countries. In turn they will search  for people with good heart and each supporter can choose which child to assist. The supporter will adopt and become like a second parent to the selected child and pay the school fees and other basic needs for that child.

To fulfill its mission, the organisation provides leadership and vision to mobilize partners from multiple domains.

So that H.A.F.A can understand better the needs of all communities, we intend to create a refugees' board on which every community with which H.A.F.A intends to work will be represented by one person at least.
