I wish to put forward to the whole world, the issues challenging education in my locality.I am a native of FUTA; a village in the Tamale metropolitan, the capital of Northen Region Ghana. The said community lacks the basic needs of education such as well constructed school, text books and other teaching. As a result of this the inhabitants of the community, who are all subsistence farmers don`t even see the need to send their children to school. Actually, I as the only educated member of the community see this as a disaster especially to the life of the children.
Also as an ICT tutor at Sakasaka Junior High School in the Tamale metropolis, it is important to bring to the notice of the world that I face a great challenge in impacting the knowledge of ICT to the children, simply because the school doesn't have computers, not to even think about a computer lab. Imagine teaching Microsoft applications without computers. In fact the situation is very bad, to say the least.
I therefore apeal to donors to listen to the plea of these poor children, to help provide my community with a school and also help establish a computer lab at Sakasaka Junior High School. Even 10 computers will remedy the situation.
