CHRISTO JYOTI - THE LIGHT OF LIFE

To speak about the project, yes of course, it is a new one. It was registered long time ago but became functional recently due to some financial reason. It's a multi-dimensional project wherein we try to cover many aspects of human needs such as Education, Income generation programmes, Health Programmes, Providing drinking water and Food, Shelter and clothing for street children.

The education part covers Primary education, Adult literacy and Student Sponsorship.One of our main focus is Primary Education where in we sponsor small children for primary education. We make dialogue with poor families and with their authorization, we sponsor kids for primary education. So far we have been able to make change in many small children. We are also opening a daycare centre shortly wherein the kids will be kept during daytime. The poor parents do not have to pay anything to keep their kids in our daycare centre. We are planning to provide free food and shelter for the kids in need.

The best part of this project is that we are trying to give education to those kids who come to our daycare centre. However, due to lack of proper rooms, we are unable to provide facilities to more kids who need the same as others. We give them primary education. We call a teacher who is a volunteer. She deals with English lessons in the daycare centre.  Besides that, we also organize school visits from time to time in order to creat a willingness  in the children's heart so as to prepare them for schooling. We use charts, books, pictures and dolls to educate the kids. We also give them opportunity to express themselves through arts and drawings. We would appriciate if we could get some school stationaries for the kids. However, physical cleanliness and punctuality are the two things that are given more importance in our daycare centre.

We have also started recently providing alternate shelter and clothings to the street boys in my home town. Well, right now, we are trying to improve on this project especially for the street boys. We do not have any Shelter for the boys however we try to help them through other possible ways such as letting them spend the night in any daycare centre available in the area.

Consequeantly, the overall project has started to grow gradually. It shows the sign that it will be a success in few years of time for which we need the support and help of our generous donors.

At present the main focus area is for the Student sponsorship and helping the needy women for financial matters and self-improvement. Thus, we would recomend most of our forthcoming donors to support for the studenst and the women in need.

The only problem that we are facing right now is to register our Organization for the FOREIGN CONTRIBUTION REGULATION ACT RECOGNITION here in India for which we need a large sum of financial support.

We hope that after reading about our project, you must  have something special to offer us for this project which holds an employer power of ten people among them six men and four women in this project namely "CHRISTO JYOTI" that means "THE LIGHT OF LIFE'.
