In this remarkable video, Nigerian novelist Chimamanda Adichie articulates brilliantly something that was a core belief for Steve Sinnott and is now a core principle for the Foundation. She challenges the stereotyping of foreign cultures and the arrogance inherent in patronising the so-called developing world. We adopt her message. We aim to encourage communities in self-belief, never preaching or patronising, but promoting self enfranchisement.
